For Keep America Moving Ahead, LLC (KAMA), this anniversary is both a memorial and a call to action. Our CEO, Karl J. Connor, played a direct role professionally and personally before, during, and after the storm: • In his position at BP America he arranged the prepositioning of 100,000 gallons of fuel to keep the city’s pumps operating before landfall. • Directed over $20M in recovery investment, including a $2.5M partnership with the National Urban League and Louisiana Urban League—helping 200 small businesses build resilience and generate $100M in new contracts over three years. • Advanced cultural and community healing through corporate support for the New Orleans African American Museum and rebuilding of playgrounds in partnership with the then–New Orleans Hornets. • Served as Vice Chair of the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority (NORA), which guided neighborhood revitalization. This is more than a story of infrastructure recovery.
